2nd Annual Mid Main Micro Marathon
It’s Not Our First Time Around the Block!
Last year’s grueling slog around the block proved just how much Houstonians don’t like to run! It’s time again to lace up your sneakers or slip on the flip flops – and put yourself through the paces of our Mid Main Micro Marathon! We’ve taken the “run” out of running and left little more than the start and finish. Going a full 0.26 miles can be hard on the system, so obviously you’ll need a break or two (with fried pickles, coffee and more) to refuel as you make your way around the Mid Main complex.
Finishers along with family and friends will be treated to cold beer and hot music in the back yard of the Continental Club. Polish Pete and the Polka! I Hardly Know Her band will be on hand for the festivities, and everyone should save some energy to dance along to the Allen Oldies Band.
Tickets available online beginning July 1. Tickets are $30, plus service fee. You’ll get a sweet race day t-shirt, a car decal for your 0.26 mile effort, and a cold one from Oasis Brewing Co. (if you’re over 21) or a craft soda courtesy of Midnight Vending plus all the goodies and activities along the route!
Youth entry fee (10 and under) is $15, and will receive a smaller sweet race day t-shirt. Four-legged racers are welcome, too.
Raffle tickets will be available for purchase on site. Prizes will be donated by local and area merchants.
Plenty more surprises and fun in store! We welcome teams, costumes, whatever you got….
Register online at sigs.ticketlagoon.com. Race day check-in begins at noon, and the starting tuba sounds at 1:00pm. All the restaurants and shops on Mid Main will be open all day, and parking is available in the Mid Main Lofts Parking Garage.
Proceeds from the event will benefit Barrio Dogs. Barrio Dogs has been working in Houston’s Greater East End since 2010 with the mission of raising awareness about proper animal care and the importance of spaying and neutering pets. We are thrilled to be working again with such a great group! Learn more about them at www.barriodogs.org.
