Trinity Jazz Festival
The Trinity Jazz Festival is renowned for bringing world-class jazz artists to Houston such as nationally acclaimed jazz patriarch Ellis Marsalis, world renowned musicians Kirk Whalum, David “Fathead” Newman, Tom Scott, Richie Cole, The New York Voices and Diane Schuur as well as well known artists with Houston ties such as Jason Moran and Everette Harp and many more local and national musicians.
The 18th annual Trinity Jazz Festival is proud to present our 2019 event, “Celebrating Women in Jazz” featuring Houston’s own Helen Sung. The event will begin on Saturday, January 26, 2019 at 6pm with a CD Release Party of Ms. Sung’s “Sung With Words” a collaboration with Dana Gioia. Houston’s Jewels of Jazz a collaboration of some of Houston’s finest female vocalists will open the concert, followed by Helen Sung and her band. The weekend culminates with the Jazz Mass, a perennially popular event on Sunday morning. The mass is free to the public and will honor the music of Nina Simone.
