Turkish Music Festival – Interconnected Cultures

Houston’s 3rd Annual Turkish Music Festival will feature two nights of folk and contemporary music from Turkey and the surrounding cultures of Bulgaria, Greece, Romania, Iran and Syria. The festival will feature performances by Berklee professor Beth Bahia Cohen, master of regional bowed instruments, Carpe Diem String Quartet, one of America’s premiere “indie” string quartets, Carnegie Mellon University professor, and world-renowned composer Reza Vali, as well as Hoppa Project musicians. Organized in partnership with the American Turkish Association of Houston and sponsored by Asia Society Texas Center and Rice University.
