A Steady Rain

A Steady Rain explores the complexities of a lifelong bond tainted by domestic affairs, violence, and the rough streets of Chicago. Joey and Denny have been best friends since kindergarten and, after working together for several years as policemen in Chicago, they are practically family: Joey helps out with Denny’s wife and kids; Denny keeps Joey away from the bottle. But when a domestic disturbance call takes a turn for the worse, their friendship is put on the line. The result is a harrowing journey into a moral gray area where trust and loyalty struggle for survival. Who will be the last man standing.

Originally staged in 2016 as the opening production in its inaugural season, Dirt Dogs Theatre Co. restages the gritty Chicago drama with an updated score composed by cinematic pop musician and performer, Hescher.

PLEASE NOTE: Dirt Dogs Theatre will require that all patrons be masked inside the theatre. Temperature checks will be conducted at the theater entrance. Any guest presenting a fever will not be permitted entry and will be offered tickets to an alternate performance or a full refund. Masks are not required, but suggested, for guests who are fully vaccinated while in the breezeway and lobby areas. For those guests who are not fully vaccinated we ask that you continue to wear a mask throughout the theater and lobby areas. All theaters are disinfected before each performance. MATCH has made hand sanitizer and disposable masks available in each of our theater lobbies. Food and beverages will not be allowed inside the theatre spaces. If you are not feeling well, please stay home. These precautions are subject to change depending on the public health guidelines.
