Folk Dances of Rajasthan

Folk music and dances are the heart and soul of India and every region has its own distinctly colorful and vibrant folk songs and dances. Some of the most dynamic of these are the ones from India’s northern state of Rajasthan, famous for its magnificent forts, its awe-inspiring desert, and its beautiful dances.

Anita Pradhan is the creator of this ensemble and has choreographed the dances. This group has been specially selected, from a nationwide pool of dance groups, to represent India for the country’s 75th year of Independence. Thanks to the Indian Consulate of India, and the Government of India’s Indian Council for Cultural Relations, Houston will have the opportunity to see the amazing Folk Dances of Rajasthan. Samskriti is honored to present this first-of-its-kind program in Houston.
