you could release me

ISHIDA Dance Company presents you could release me: an evening of thought-provoking premieres by international artists in world-class contemporary dance. ISHIDA features new works based on her original poetic narratives that merge contemporary dance with the aesthetic beauty of the human form from classical ballet. The program includes a dramatic excerpt from dream of black you come roaming – a full length narrative about one couple and their doppelgangers, along with the world premiere of changeling – a fragile depiction of falling in love. The evening features a world premiere by Emilie Leriche, a Paris-based choreographer who has created on Scapino Ballet Rotterdam and commissioned by Netherlands Dans Theater. The program will also include the Texas premiere of the playful duet DOMA by Jeremy Galdeano and Vera Kvarcakova formerly with Les Grands Ballets Canadiens, whose work has been performed by Les Grands Ballets and featured in Montr?al, Italy and Germany. Award-winning British Finnish choreographer Kristian Lever returns to Houston having choreographed a work on Royal Danish Ballet for Dance Salad Festival in 2019. ISHIDA Dance will present the US premiere of Lever’s intimate work originally created on Hamburg Ballet.

you could release me will have its world premiere January 12 – 14, 2022 at Houston’s MATCH located at 3400 Main Street, Houston, TX 77002. Tickets are on sale beginning Friday, December 10 at IshidaDance.org.
