Imagine a place that marries playtime with cultural enrichment.

The Ensemble Theatre encourages anyone aged six through 17 to nurture their creative, artistic side in their Young Performers Program. Classes are held Monday through Friday. Many of the performers have gone on to share their talents with Broadway audiences. And their Children’s Theater is not to be missed.

Contact the Community Arts Collective about their After School Programs, for children who want to learn more about art, life or themselves. South Main Baptist offers summer musicals, a Stay and Play program, a Wednesday Night Children’s Music program and loads of other activities. Their Mother’s Day Out program, Play Days, is offered every Tuesday and Thursday.

The Breakfast Klub always welcomes children, but on the first Saturday of every month, their Kids 1st Saturday event is an outdoor affair featuring arts and crafts, a moon walk, music and other fun stuff. Southern style food is served inside the restaurant, recognized as one of the “best breakfast restaurants in the nation” by USA Today, Good Morning America and Forbes magazine.

Houston’s Metropolitan School of Dance keeps your children on their toes. Ballet, jazz, hip-hop and tap lessons are only a few of the unique dance class options. METdance Center offers comprehensive dance training and education to students of all levels for ages three and up. Ask them about the educational community outreach program “Swing, Jive, and Pop into Dance” and MET too.
