John Clement ‘Tusk’ Opening

The Gallery Sonja Roesch is pleased to announce an exhibition featuring sculptures by New York based artist John Clement, titled ‘TUSK’. The exhibition opens September 7th, and ends on October 27th, 2018. John Clement effortlessly cuts, bends, joins, and welds steel pipes into interconnecting forms. Transforming this industrial material, Clement creates a monumental line drawing, swirling through time and space. These sculptures appear to defy gravity, as they swoop and swivel in the air. Endlessly devoted to the geometry of the arc, John Clement refines cold steel into graceful, vibrant, curling sculptures. Painted in primary colors, John Clement’s sculptures evoke playfulness, filling the world with imagination, hope, and potential. Despite the large scale and solidity of his medium, Clement’s work celebrates the joy of movement and the rediscovery of space while altering our view of the surrounding landscape. A student of acclaimed public art sculptors, Mark Di Suvero and John Henry, John Clement’s works are permanently displayed across the globe; on view in North America, Canada, Europe, Australia, and Korea.
