KINETIC: Ocean’s Call

One of the most versatile and innovative classical groups in Houston, KINETIC opens its fourth season with an evocative collage of three works inspired by the captivating interactions of water and physical space. Grace Williams’ energetic Sea Sketches depict the Welsh coastline while Grammy Award-winning Michael Daugherty’s Fallingwater, a concerto for violin and string orchestra featuring KINETIC’s Samuel Park, is inspired by the famous Frank Lloyd Wright-designed Pennsylvania home of the same name. Rounding out the program is the world premiere of the string orchestra version of Ocean’s Call by the emerging American composer Daniel Temkin.
