Concierto Afro-Latino
Celebrating local artist, Raul Orlando Edwards’ 25th Anniversary in the Houston community, this performance highlights the many influences found in Latin music, from the European to the Gypsy to the African and beyond – an artistic journey through music and dance of the Americas. As an artist, Raul Orlando Edwards has the distinction of being recognized by four consecutive City of Houston administrations (Brown, White, Parker and Turner) for his continuous contributions in the Greater Houston Area and in 2019 he was awarded a Support for Artists and Creative Individuals (SACI) grant competition for City of Houston arts funding.
This special performance will feature Eddy Marcano’s Trio Acustico (Eddy Marcano, violin; Jose ‘Layo’ Puentes, bass; Baden Goyo, piano), Alison Greene (soprano), Reinaldo Costa (dance), Cassandra White (soprano), Paul Boyd (piano), Jorge ‘CroCro’ Orta (percussion), Strictly Street Salsa, Raul Orlando Edwards (baritone, dancer) and others.
