15th Annual Houston Asian American & Pacific Islander Film Festival (HAAPI Fest)

HAAPI Fest is entering the 15th year of its legacy and tradition of sharing a celebration of art, film, and music from the Asian American & Pacific Islander (AAPI) community with the city of Houston.

From June 20, 2019 through June 28, 2019 we will be showcasing 50+ new AAPI shorts and feature films to Houston that highlight and celebrate the diversity of AAPI culture, food, and family, to support AAPI artists and filmmakers, and to share the untold AAPI experience for the Greater Houston metropolitan area through edutainment.

All film lovers are invited to join us for HAAPI Fest’s opening night on June, 20th 2019 at 7PM at Asia Society Texas Center to watch the Houston premier of Jay Chern’s “Omotenashi” followed by a Private VIP Reception with a special Q&A with the director. This event is in partnership with Asia Society, Taiwan Academy and the Museum of Fine Arts Houston.

Starting June 21st, the HAAPI Fest will begin its residency at the Houston Marriott – Westchase. During the residency guests will be able to enjoy a variety of shorts and feature films that speak to the very core and the mission of HAAPIFEST: promoting and developing Asian and Asian American innovators in the film and entertainment industry, promote Houston as a cultural destination for the arts, and educate the AAPI and wider communities through the visual storytelling of Asians and Asian Americans.
