A Summer Salon: Chamber Music from the Romantic Era

La Speranza presents A Summer Salon: Chamber Music from the Romantic Era Saturday, July 8 at MATCH Houston.

Escape from the heat for La Speranza’s “Summer Salon”, a concert showcasing works written during the Romantic era for two or three instrumentalists.

Join Houston’s newest historical chamber music ensemble for an unforgettable evening of stirring virtuosity and fantastical storytelling through the music of Brahms, Schumann, and Bruch.

Historical clarinetist Thomas Carroll returns to Houston with Ottensteiner clarinets from 1879 to join Yvonne Smith on gut stringed viola and Andrew Schneider on piano for this special performance you won’t want to miss.

On the program:

Märchenerzählungen (“Fairytale Stories”) for clarinet, viola, and piano, Op. 132 (1853)- Robert Schumann
