Asia Society Family Day: Diwali, The Festival of Lights

Join Asia Society Texas Center for a Family Day, celebrating Diwali, The Festival of Lights.

Diwali is one of India’s major holidays, celebrated every year in late October or early November.

It is a time of renewal and new beginnings, and families celebrate by cleaning their homes, wearing new clothes, and eating their favorite meals.

The festival’s name comes from the clay lamps that are lit outside of homes to symbolize the victory of good over evil.

Join us in celebrating the Festival of Lights with art-making and games. Admission to our new exhibition, Wondrous Worlds: Art & Islam Through Time & Place will also be free and open to the public.
