Gulf Coast Reading Series

Sandra Lim is the author of three collections of poetry: most recently, THE CURIOUS THING (W.W. Norton, 2021); THE WILDERNESS (W.W. Norton, 2014), and LOVELIEST GROTESQUE (Kore Press, 2006). Her poems have appeared in The New York Review of Books, The Baffler, The New Republic, and elsewhere. She has received the Levis Reading Prize, a Literature Award from the American Academy of Arts and Letters, and a Guggenheim Fellowship. Born in Seoul, Korea, she teaches at the University of Massachusetts Lowell and in the low-residency MFA program at Warren Wilson College. She lives in Cambridge, MA.

Paige Qui?ones is the author of The Best Prey, winner of the 2020 Pleiades Press Lena Miles-Wever Todd Prize for Poetry. She has received awards and fellowships from the Center for Mexican-American Studies, the Academy of American Poets, and Inprint Houston. Her work has appeared in Best New Poets, Copper Nickel, Crazyhorse, Juked, Lambda Literary, Orion Magazine, Poetry Northwest, Quarterly West, Sixth Finch, and elsewhere.

Kaitlin Rizzo is a writer, researcher, and translator working on a series of projects related to the life of Baroque painter, Artemisia Gentileschi. Currently a master’s candidate in poetry at the University of Houston, she is a Poetry Editor at Gulf Coast, and the Graduate Advisor for the undergraduate literary magazine, Glass Mountain. Her most recent writing can be found in the form of a retrospective essay in the anthology Shreela Ray: On the Life and work of an American Master.

Brendan Stephens is a 5th year PhD candidate at the University of Houston. His work has appeared in Epoch, the Southeast Review, SmokeLong Quarterly, Notre Dame Review, and elsewhere. Brendan is the recipient of an Inprint Marion Barthelme Prize, two Inprint Donald Barthelme Prizes, an Into the Void Fiction Prize, and a Sequestrum Emerging Writer Award.
