Occupational Hazards

“Occupational Hazards” is a compilation of choral music and popular songs that explore women in the workplace, the role of women in labor through the ages, the role of family and even in the armed forces. Most music centers around the theme of love and relationships, so it was a challenge to find music that centered around working, what it means to be a woman, and the gratification of putting in good old-fashioned hard-work.

“Our ladies work really hard through the year putting together concerts to share with the Houston community. So in a way, we’re a microcosim of the quintessential hard-working women,” Says Tyler Rubert, director of BCWC, “You could say they bust they’ve busted their humps to provide you with a little relaxation from your daily grind with humor, wit and charm. There is no stopping these career gals in turning heads (and ears) in working 9 to 5 for your entertainment. “
