RDA / RSA Fall 2017 Lecture Series: Pliable – Sheila Kennedy, FAIA

Rice Architecture (RSA) and Rice Design Alliance (RDA) present Pliable, the Fall 2017 Lecture Series. Curated by Dawn Finley, Associate Professor at Rice Architecture.

The Pliable series features three internationally renowned practitioners who advocate for the immediacy of material investigations and fabrication in architecture, whether low-tech or high-tech, analog or digital.

Through their research and design, all three offer up nimble responses to unforeseen material and fabrication challenges and opportunities.

On the surface, these three designers are linked by their innovative work with textiles. Upon closer examination, they are reshaping contemporary practice in compelling, provocative ways through material-based research and with repercussions for all design fields.

Single Tickets (as available, sold 30 minutes before the lecture): $10. For additional information, please call 713-348-4876. No guaranteed seating for ticket holders after 7pm. Tickets are non-refundable.

VENUE: MATCH is located at the Ensemble/HCC stop on the METRORail Red Line. Alternatively, parking is available in the new Mid Main garage directly across Holman from MATCH. The garage can be entered from Holman or Travis.

Parking is $4 per hour with a maximum rate of $7.50 per evening. Street parking is also available and is free after 6pm.
