Texas New Music Festival
Texas New Music Festival brings 25 international composers, numerous instrumentalists, and 5 conductors to Houston for a week-long celebration of new music featuring concerts, masterclasses, workshops, and guest lectures.
Some highlights include a portrait concert of the music of Rob Smith, a recital by legendary Jazz pianist Joe LoCascio, and University of Houston professor Tim Koozin will be leading a discussion on his research into spiritual-temporal imagery in the music of Toru Takemitsu and Olivier Messiaen.
All events are open to the public and many are free.
