Weekend Walk-In: Chess

Drop by HCCC to explore the current exhibition, Tree of Life, with an afternoon of chess. Learn how the African blackwood tree’s naturally dark, nearly black, colored core makes it a preferred choice of material for ornamental turning, carving, use in woodwind instruments, and in everyday objects such as chess sets. Take your own turn at chess, or watch a match between other museum visitors.

Visitors are encouraged to bring their own boards and chess sets, as supplies will be limited. No reservations are required, and drop-ins are welcome!
